Old Kids is a personal portrait series about people who play.
In my life, play is the energy that paints the world vibrant and youthful, allowing me to sculpt a career and a lifestyle I’m grateful to call my own.
I believe that when we engage in play, it’s not simply for enjoyment or to pass the time. It’s our ritual to access a state of mind where the boundaries of time dissolve, where we lose the gravity of the world, and we fall back into rhythm with the pulse of our lives.
The definition of 'play' reads something like this:
"To engage in activity for enjoyment or recreation, rather than a serious or practical purpose, especially by children."
But for those I’ve come to know, play isn’t a retreat from the seriousness or struggle of life… and it carries enormous purpose as the vessel to pass through these challenges with grace.
Old Kids is a celebration of this mindset, painting play as the bridge between mundane and magic. It’s about the places we find play on the map, and the places our play takes us in spirit, too. It’s about capturing the depth of joy, curiosity, and rebellion I admire in others while making meaningful connection with people who inspire me - people who never stopped playing, no matter the years etched into their smile.
This series is just beginning, and I'm buzzing with excitement while imagining the people I'll have the chance to meet and the images I'll have the chance to capture as it progresses. Thanks for looking!
